How to set your library's opening hours
Your opening hours decide when seats can be booked. Slot presets are split across them, and hourly bookings can only be made within them.
Who can do thisOwner, Org admin by default, or any staff role given Org Settings → Manage in Settings → Staff role permissions.
Steps
- In the left menu, click Settings.
- On the Organization tab, open General.
- Under Hours & pricing, choose the Opening hour and Closing hour.
- Scroll down and click Save changes.

- Opening hourWhen your library opens
- Closing hourWhen it closes
- Hourly rate (₹)Price per hour for hourly seats
You can also change the hours from Slots → Edit hours, or in step 2 of the setup wizard.
What happens next
- The Slots page shows your new hours, and new presets are split across them.
- The hourly booking grid shows only these hours.
- Existing slots outside the new hours stay as they are. Edit them on the Slots page if needed.
Run a 24-hour library or an overnight shift
The latest Closing hour you can choose is 11 PM. That only limits the hourly booking grid and the slot presets. Slots you create yourself can run outside your opening hours, so night students can still book a fixed shift.
A slot can end at 12 midnight or start at 12 AM, but one slot can't run past midnight. Split a night shift in two at midnight:
- On Slots, create a slot from 10 PM to 12 AM, for example "Night".
- Create a second slot from 12 AM to 6 AM, for example "Late night".
- When a student takes the night shift, book both slots on the same seat in one go with Book several slots. Type your night fee in Price Paid (₹): it's the total for both slots, and you get one receipt.
For a library that never closes, cover the whole day with slots, for example Morning (6 AM–2 PM), Evening (2 PM–10 PM) and the two night slots. A student who wants a seat round the clock is booked into all of them.
Keep in mind:
- Hourly bookings only fit within your opening hours, so walk-in hourly seats aren't sold after closing.
- The two night slots are separate rows on Assignments. Renew both together so the student keeps the whole night.
